We'll be staying at E 64th and 3rd and I'd like to know where to go for weekday breakfast/bagels and possible picnic provisions. Years ago when I lived in the neighborhood, I went to Citronelle (closed) and A&V and Eli's, which are a bit too far north. Considering Sarabeth's CP South for a breakfast and Sables for picnic stuff, but could use a few more options.

Thanks

There is Gourmet Garage right near you on 64th St. between First and Second Aves...excellent bagels and breads, good cheese selection, cold cuts, some pretty good prepared foods.

      There's a Whole Foods now on 57th between 2nd and 3rd.

Cheese on 62nd at 62nd and Lex for cheese, charcuterie and the like or Mitchell London's for (expensive) prepared foods would be my choices for picnic provisions right around there. For breakfast, there is viand and eat here now for dinery items, and Pain D'Avignon in the Plaza Food court has some pretty tasty things like Russ and Daughters salmon with creme freche on a little brioche.

Ees a bagel midtown will deliver to you, they're about 10blocks away and my favorite in the area.
