Recommendations for Inn and Dining for 60th Anniversary Southern Maine

  • 6

We all live away now and Mom and Dad are having 60th Anniversary. We are looking for someplace where they can drive spend the night and enjoy a lovely meal.

Dad is visually impaired and deaf with hearing aids.. no loud dining rooms. Mom still driving. We have done White Barn Inn in the past.
They really enjoyed it but found the service a little too precious..
Anything within hour or two drive of Portland. Oceanfront with fireplace a plus.

  1. Haven't been but I've heard good things about Sea Glass restaurant in The Inn By the Sea in Cape Elizabeth. The Inn itself is very nice with to-die-for views.

We have stayed at The Inn By The Sea in Cape Elizabeth (stunning views and really nice grounds), and Sea Glass was excellent. While not as good as Portland's finest restaurants, it is still quite good.

    2. I have been to the Meadowmere Resort many times and they have nice rooms with fireplaces, (GAS) And there is a nice restaurant right next store. But you could call. They have a nice website that you can see a lot about the place. Its located in Ogunquit. Phone number is 800 633-8718.Its got a nice indoor pool. and hot roman bath. and a nice lounge to sit and enjoy.

      1. Try the Stage Neck Inn in York. I have not been there in years, alas, but the food was always very good and the accommodations are lovely.

Perhaps others on the board have eaten there or stayed there recently?

        1. Consider Stripers at the Breakwater in Kennebunkport. We dined next to George and Barbara a couple of years back!

          1. Try Cape Arundell Inn in Kenebunkport. Lovely place and great restaurant, Ocean, for a special occasion
