  1. Yes. But that will be the least of your problems there.

    1. Im assuming your 3 year old doesnt love dinner at 830/9pm. you may wait a bit but it wont be hours . . .

not sure what ny jewboy means but your plan sounds fine. unless any wait at all is a non-starter. in which case you should make reservations somewhere.

Dont get me wrong, I love Roberta's. Their pizza is probably my favorite in the city. I was referring to the hipster affectations and rarified preciousness aspect. Hey, its just pizza...just pizza, but very good.

Your description of the clientele will keep me away forever. I'll just stick with good old traditional Brooklyn pizza.

My solution to the problem is to avoid any establishment that doesn't serve matzo ball soup. I don't order it every time, mind you, but it has to be on the menu.

              Yes. I love it too.

                what if they offer delivery?

                1. re: tex.s.toast

The hipsters who do delivery these days are the worst. "Oh look at me, I brought your food on a BICYCLE." I hear they like irony, so I give them an ironic tip.

                  1. re: scooter

eponysiterical - hip or no, real bike (not the shitty mopeds with crazy drivers who weave through pedestrian traffic on sidewalks) delivery is something we should encourage.

        2. Go early and you'll be fine.

We were 4 people and we went at 6pm on a Saturday and were sat straight away.
AND, there was a couple next to us with a toddler and a baby.

Everyone seemed happy and chill - parents, kids, staff, Toby McGuire (who was also there).

There was no "hipster affectations and rarified preciousness".

But, that was more than a year ago, so maybe it has changedā€¦ still, I'm sure if you're there early on a Monday, you will be fine and get to eat some delicious pizza!

Did you say there were no hipster affectations at Roberta's? Wow. What does someone have to do to be declared a hipster in your book? It must be pretty extreme. In terms of staff, clientele, decor, and attitudeā€¦.it is the gold standard for hipsterism on websites like 'die hipster.com'.

Who cares? The food is great.

I agree, I love Roberta's. However you have to be realistic about what it is. It is a very annoying hipster joint with really good food. Some people are definitely thrown by the level of pretentious nonsense they dish out.
