42 Grams

Has anyone been to 42 grams yet? Thoughts on the experience and any suggestions for wine pairings?

  1. Have not been yet, but have heard great things and I enjoyed three outstanding dinners with Chef Jake and Alexa at Sous Rising - their underground dinner they ran just prior to 42 Grams. Not sure if you saw this on their, web site, but they make some recommendations regarding wine pairings:

    What wines are recommended?
    We recommend white, red and dessert, but when in doubt, a good Champagne or Franciacorta pairs with just about anything!

    For the first half of the menu, an old world Sauvignon Blanc or a dry Riesling is ideal. Other good pairings might include a Savennières or lightly oaked Marsanne/Rousanne.

    For the heartier courses, a medium bodied and fruit forward, like an Oregon Pinot Noir or a younger French Merlot would pair nicely.

    For the final portion of the menu, we recommend a delicate dessert wine, such as Sauternes or a late harvest Riesling.

    Most guests go through about one bottle per person. Please feel free to email with questions regarding specific wines. We do provide proper stemware for all styles.
