Favorite DC area food truck

I apologize if a thread on this topic already exists - and if so, please direct me to it - but I am new to the city and all of the many food truck options. I would love to get people's opinions of which ones are their favorites and worth following.

  1. I like the Lobster Truck. A bit expensive but always delicious. I love an ice cold lobster salad in a hot bun!

Agreed. Pricey but worth the occasional splurge!

Me, too! But I love the warm, butter soaked one.

      2. Are you DC, VA, or MD? I'm thinking DC. Thing is when you say area, it includes MD and VA. Food trucks are restricted based on licensing.

I live in VA - but am primarily interested in the DC trucks as that's where I work/have lunch most of the time.

I haven't tried most of them, but I like Rolling Ficelle for sandwiches. (Except butter has leaked out and stained my slacks. Messiness of food truck lunches is my personal ongoing issue.)

        2. I like Rolling Ficelle; and Fasika Ethiopian was good the one time I tried it.

I really like Fasika Ethiopian and I've only had the babaganoush from Kafta Mania - but it's one of the best versions I've ever had (and I just returned to the US after living in the Middle East for a while).

          2. I have enjoyed Far East Taco Grill, Peruvian brothers, PORC, and Fojol: Benethiopia.

            1. Korengy is my favorite. Love the spicy chicken chap chae. Enough for 2 meals, easy.

              1. Rolling Ficelle is great! I also really liked Henhouse the few times I had it (roast chicken with this addictive bbq mango-type sauce).

All of the Fojol trucks are great. I like the Indian-style truck the best though.

When I lived in DC I also ate at the Yellow Vendor a lot for Korean food. It's not amazing but pretty solid. Finally DC Empanadas is really nice and offers a good variety.

Rolling Ficelle also has been retired!

OH NO! That's so sad. Those sandwiches were delicious.

I kept seeing their truck outside our building and kept saying, need to try that one. Ya snooze, ya lose. 8<(

                    2. I like Sang on Wheels--Indonesian, and lots of it. Thanks to Marty for the original recommendation.
