Easter 2014: What's on your menu?

I know it's a little early but what are you making for Easter 2014?

If anyone needs a dessert suggestion, I think Alton's best ever coconut cream pie is amazing. I added a layer of chocolate ganache to the bottom of the crust which sent it over the top. Please don't skip this step. I also did homemade whip cream with no sugar since it's already sweet.

  1. The main will be slow cooked leg of lamb with an anchovy, rosemary, garlic rub. I'm still debating the side dishes but will likely involve asparagus.

That sounds delicious. I'm thinking of doing lamb chops.

The anchovy rub is my favorite prep for lamb, a recipe I picked up here of course :)

Coming to your house. Hubby doesn't care for lamb. He can have his same ol', same ol, baked ham, Au Gratin potatoes with onions, bacon and extra cheese, and green beans.

I'll take the lamb with those potatoes.

      3. I think I will make a lamb roulade stuffed with goat cheese and mint(Gordon Ramsay recipe) fresh peas and mashed potatoes. For dessert we always make a riff on a trifle, maybe a lemon strawberry one this year(no jelly or jam).

        1. We always make ham, scalloped potatoes, spinach and raisin sauce. I need some suggestions for dessert....I was thinking of making a Mille feuille cake. Does anyone have any tips?

          1. Too early to tell! My wife has not brought up the subject.

            1. We will do our usual leg lamb with a rosemary/garlic crust, some kind of potatoes, most likely Dauphinoise along with ginger glazed carrots and (fingers crossed) local asparagus. I love when easter is late because I can usually at least get asparagus from New Jersey if not my own state!
