Pastry making course

Hi, I am looking to do a professional pastry making course. I am aware of the ones at the ITHQ and Pearson. Does anyone have any insight on these programs that might help me make a decision? Or any other programs to recommend?

  1. Both Christian Faure and Patrice Demers offer courses.

      I had read about Christian Faure, but the program costs 22,000$ (before taxes). I just can't afford that.

      I was curious about Patrice Demers (at the moment the website isn't letting me access the classes offered).

        There are also professional cooking programs offered at Centre Calixa-Lavallée, École des métiers de la restauration et du tourisme de Montréal, Saint Pius X, and LaSalle College, among others.

        Unfortunately I do not know if any of them offer a pastry program specifically.

          because Patrice Demers doesn't offer classes yet. from what i heard when i went to his boutique last week, classes should start first week of April

            What's the length of his Pastry courses?

        1. The Baking Education Center at King Arthur Flour in Vermount is the place. They have weekend sessions with well known teachers. Last year Montreal bread/pastry icon James McGuire taught a weekend course. Check it out.

          1. CFP Jacques Rousseau on the South Shore offers a variety of pastry making courses, both full-time, part-time and one offs.

            The École hôtelière de Laval also offers a pastry making course. Total costs are about $460 and it takes about 42 weeks.
