Splendid Table - Downloads

It used to be possible to go back into the Splendid Table/NPR episode archives and download broadcasts. I've just beeen some half hour going around in circles with Google trying to locate those archives.

Anyone know where they are? An exact URL would be great. Thanks.

  1. I use the NPR app and all the episodes are listed, FWIW.

Thanks but I don't have any phone system with any 'apps' - just a traditional desk PC - so if anyone knows of an ordinary URL I'd appreciate it - thanks.

Thanks much - somehow missed that.

I clicked on the site but I can't seem to download any videos.
There's a bar at the top left that shows the seconds ticking away but no images.
Any suggestions? I'm pretty savvy computer-wise BTW.
          Looks like a great site.

Is there video? I think it's just an audio-only show.

If you click a particular episode it takes you to a page where you can stream that episode from the web page or apparently download it as well, from that gray bar at top.

Yes - it's just audio - but unfortunately
without any possibility to filter out Lynn R-K's silly laughs/giggles - just be thankful we don't have to watch them too.

              1. re: jounipesonen

I thought that kind of filtering is something we learned to do as kids.

Yeah - usually works but in this case the db level is just too high :-) :-(

Awwww... am I the only one who enjoys her laughter?

                  1. re: CindyJ

                    Could VERY well be.

It's just a loud giggle which doesn't even allude to anything that might have been funny.

I think of the CONSTANT laughter on CarTalk - which is frankly infectious and has NEVER bothered me.

                    1. re: jounipesonen

Different strokes... I always found myself getting annoyed at the CarTalk laughter, which always sounded phony to me.

                      1. re: CindyJ

I feel that may be the case too - but it still brings a smile to my face - but as LR-K's giggles are almost never tied to something that might have even be funny I give it a 'phony with no consolation' classification.

Tried that link again now - right clicking seems to allow only downloading an HTML document.

Is there another 'page' for downloading old ST's?

              1. re: jounipesonen

If you have iTunes installed on your PC, you can download from iTunes Store.

                1. re: jimonyc

well I suppose I can load it - but you say 'store' - $$$$$$ ??

I did download some 15-20 from that site a couple of months ago - and was included as part of NPR services.

                  1. re: jounipesonen

Most recent 52 episodes are available.

                2. re: jounipesonen

still gives me the list of episodes to play or download. There is another link that gives the rss information

                  Is that what you're seeing?

At any rate, it's free through iTunes or any other podcast manager if you'd rather go that route.

                  1. re: jounipesonen

The 'play' bar for each episode also has a 'download' function.
