Off to Mexico City for 11 days!

Leave tomorrow for 11 full days in DF. I can't wait to get my teeth in to all the great food we have planned to try, and see all the museums I've said "some visit, when I have more time..."

Thanks to you all for your honest critiques and suggestions, I've gotten so much good information from this board, most by lurking, some by participating.

Too many places to list here, but I will do my best to repay the help you've given when I get back.

Curious if Lahtiji ever reported back after the DF trip…(??)

    2. Cool! Obviously you will visit the Anthropological Museum in Chapultepec Park, But 11 days should allow field trips to Cuernavaca and Puebla?

It's possible, but for now I'm concentrating my energies on the city. I've been several times, but never this long. This is a chance to do all those things I say, "Sometime when I have more time to spend here."

      2. Don't forget the Franz Mayer, the Soumaya, Bellas Artes, Do visit Dolores Olmeda's place in Zochimilco, it is a beautiful house and has a museum and her house and garden with peacocks. Also Coayacan is great and you can go to Frida Kahlo's house.

Yes! I was here in September and saw the Soumaya. So this trip it will be Museo Jumex instead. This is my better half's first trip to Mexico, and already Coyoacán is a favorite. I've seen the Museo Casa Frida Kahlo, we may split for a bit and this time I'll get to see the Leon Trotsky House Museum instead.

Dining has been good, a few missteps, but overall delicious and lovely as always.

I think your wife would be enchanted by brunch at the Four Seasons, lunch at Hacienda de los Morales, lunch at San Angel Inn and some lovely paella at Meson del Cid. Those are some of my favorites! Also El Cardenal a couple of blocks from the Zocolo is very good.

        2. i hope you keep reporting back!

i went last month see my thread below:

The Ministry of Education building was a real surprise to me, when we visited it back in November, 2013. Besides the Diego River paintings within, the extensive building is very interesting.

+1 on Duelistas and el Ministerio de Ed.
