Well, it has been talked about but it looks like it is finally going to happen. The 7-11 is papered over and the Italian Store sign is in the window. Westover gets another winner, I swear it is like a miniature Del Ray!

Ziv, LOL --> "a miniature DelRay"!

    Congrats on the Italian Store!

Now if Westover could get a "Let's Meat on the Avenue" butcher like in DelRay.

That is a shop I would visit frequently!

his fresh amish butter alone is worth the trip. best lamb i've ever purchased, too. great sausages, esp. the more exotic and highly spiced ones.

Alkapal, I am only recently starting to work my way through the lamb recipes in my cookbooks and some of them are incredibly rich and tasty.
My family has raised cattle for generations so we simply didn't prepare lamb or mutton dishes for both agricultural and social reasons.

i never grew up with lamb either. the first exposure i had was in college -- at sunday lunch, where the cafeteria served it with mint jelly. ook ook phooey!

now my absolute favorite meat: new zealand lamb chops at amoo's in mclean. chef sebastian has the gift!
