Late Night Dinner on a Friday

Ok, my husband and I fly in about 8pm on a Friday. We have a limo booked from MSY to our hotel in FQ. We would love suggestions for somewhere to hit up for dinner after we check-in. I've been having a hard time finding places online that are open later. Would love a place with some live music. Doesn't have to be fancy.

  1. I was looking into this for our trip in April. Probably just going to grab a sandwich and take it back to the room, it is close to where we are staying, from Killer Po Boys in the back of the Erin Rose Bar open til midnight. While researching I also noticed that Sylvain is also opened til midnight.

Just a heads up that you can most certainly eat at the Erin Rose; it's the surest way of getting your iced irish coffee refilled in a timely manner.

As for other late night eats -- especially with music -- most of Frenchmen kind of gets going when you're rolling in: the Yuki, Praline Connection, 13, Adolfo's, Cafe Negril's tacos, Wasabi, Sukho Thai (BYO), Buffa's (always open) and so on.

A little further afield, Mariza closes at 11; Maurepas, Bacchanal at midnight; Suis Generis at 1; Borracio at 4 ... lots of decent options really.

No need for dessert with Erin Rose's frozen Irish coffee. Love it! I'd skip Adolpho's and Buffas.

Fair enough I guess -- neither is fine dining -- but it is true that Buffa's is one of the best places to eat and catch a show at the same time. The chuck wings, burger, and cheese/ham/fried chicken sandwich are standouts.

        + 1 Sylvain.

Very romantic & so convenient to central FQ while having the class & style and coziness of an uptown bistro. Then pedicab (or cab) it over to Windsor Court Hotel to see Robin Barnes, the NOLA Songbird and a great performer. It is fancy but not ofputting. IMO, this would be a wonderful evening for a couple! You can always go back to Erin Rose for iced Irish Coffee if you have the energy.

      3. The Besh places (Luke and Domenica) are open for a later dinner. No music though.

        1. If you're up for it, you have plenty of time for dinner AND live music. On virtually every Friday (and most other days of the week), you can find great shows that don't start till 10pm (or later!). If you tell us precisely which Friday, some of us would be happy to recommend music.

I vote for Sylvain. Make a reservation.

Hi - Found this thread, and it perfectly answers my question. I'll be getting in late this Friday, and would love to see music too (also on the later side). If anyone has recommendations, I'd greatly appreciate it!
