Empanada Wrappers

Anyone know where I can purchase empanada wrappers? Preferably on the Westside.

  1. There is a Pavilions near me that carries the Goya brand but then other Pavilions don't. You could call ahead. I get mine at Baja Ranch on the eastside so if you have any hispanic groceries like those, they should have them in the frozen section.

    1. I'm afraid I too only know the eastside.

I've seen them frozen at Superking, my argentinian market/empanada place and SuperA Markets.

So yes, I'd agree with foodandscience, find a hispanic market. Maybe Top Valu?

      1. Thank you for the recommendations!

        1. Try Bay Cities in Santa Monica or there's an Argenitian market right off the Manhattan Beach Blvd. exit off the 405. i think it's called Gaucho Market

              Wow Ernie - great info!

I didn't even know of that place!

            2. Look for your local Hispanic supermarket. The wrappers come frozen. In Chicago we get many brands---GOYA should be everywhere, nationwide. Also, I see that some have posted that you have an Argentine market where you are---they will surely have them. One caveat: don't get any ideas about making your own. I lived in BA as a girl and was lovingly taught how to do this using "grasa de pella" (suet). Did it once. Took about twelve hours. Never since, and never again.
