  1. Lafayette.

It's one of the best croissant type items I've had in the city. Only thing to mention ahead of time is the last one I got appeared cut down the middle for the paste. They make there's with almond slivers and paste on the topping too. It's delicious.

not a lafayette fan (the restaurant) but yeah, that's a damn fine almond croissant.

i also like the ones at la colombe. i think they get them from balthazar.

last time i asked, la colombe got their pastries from ceci cela.

        1. I love the almond croissant at La Colombe, on Lafayette and 4th St. Not sure where they source it from, since I don't think they make it in house, but it's my favorite.

hmm, i go there for coffee sometimes -- but i guess since carbs/sweets are not normally part of my world, i never noticed them...i'll check it out :)

They sell out of stuff, so it's easy to miss the empty case at La Colombe.

          2. Maison Kayser!!! Outstanding croissants.
Otherwise, Ceci Cela which is not in those neighborhoods.

              1. This previous thread was for all of dowtown but has some good suggestions that are still valid:
