Best for me means lots of almond paste, light, not too doughy...thanks in advance :)
It's one of the best croissant type items I've had in the city. Only thing to mention ahead of time is the last one I got appeared cut down the middle for the paste. They make there's with almond slivers and paste on the topping too. It's delicious.
awesome...i'll get one there soon...
not a lafayette fan (the restaurant) but yeah, that's a damn fine almond croissant.
i also like the ones at la colombe. i think they get them from balthazar.
last time i asked, la colombe got their pastries from ceci cela.
Francois Payard Bakery
I love the almond croissant at La Colombe, on Lafayette and 4th St. Not sure where they source it from, since I don't think they make it in house, but it's my favorite.
hmm, i go there for coffee sometimes -- but i guess since carbs/sweets are not normally part of my world, i never noticed them...i'll check it out :)
They sell out of stuff, so it's easy to miss the empty case at La Colombe.
Maison Kayser!!! Outstanding croissants.Otherwise, Ceci Cela which is not in those neighborhoods.
