Brewers Association Revised Craft Brewer Definition

  • 2

The BA board made a number of changes to its basic documents. Among those is a revised "craft brewer" definition. This was just announced, so I'm not sure about its exact effect, but it would seem, at a minimum, to bring some of the older brewers, specifically Schell, into the fold. This is a welcome development.

  1. Obsessing over labels does no one any good. Most beer people can spot good beer when they taste it.

Honestly the whole kurfluffle over the craft beer and microbrew terminology is pretty annoying.

I completely agree. No new breweries start out as industrial breweries, so every new brewery will be able to use the marketing term.
