Warwick, RI area

Hi there...passing through Warwick, RI for a night and was curious if there was any good "must try" hole in the wall, off the beaten path type places in the area.

  1. Trattoria San Vivaldi: a tiny inexpensive hole in the wall with no menu. The cook just talks with you about what you eat and tells you what is in the kitchen. Not fancy, but if you are good-humored it is a great experience!

Second Trattoria San Vivaldi, especially if you want something a little different. I went there several times when my son was in college in RI. Food was always great and as long as you go in with a good attitude you will have the best time. By that, I just mean let Chef Alfie "tell you" what you are having for dinner. Of course, tell him if you have an special dietary restrictions (i.e. my wife is allergic to shellfish, no problem).
