  1. City Barbeque, they're out of Ohio, believe it or not. According to their marketing director, they will be opening in April.

Here's an article discussing the company and the new location:

    2. If their brisket is good I'll be happy! As much as I love Eastern style pork I get a craving for brisket once in awhile.

IMHO, brisket is so hard to get right. A few places in TX can do it (all in Lockhart area). I don't know quite why it is so difficult. it just is.
Locally, I love smokey's over in morrisville, but event ehre, the brisket is not quite as tender as it might be. Their pork however...awesome.

I'm from Texas - been gone a long, long time but I feel confident that once Ed Mitchell opens Que in Durham, his brisket will be good.

I like Smokey's quite a bit but between the location and the hours I seldom am able to go there...City BBQ would be much easier for me to visit if the brisket is decent.

Smokey's is good but his rub is too sweet for brisket. For that reason I give the nod to The Original Q Shack in Durham. Dan Ferguson, the owner, is from Texas.
