Poughkeepsie/New Paltz Beer Bar/ Brasserie etc....

I was wondering if there are any decent beer bars/brasseries etc.. in the Poughkeepsie/New Paltz area worth visiting. We love great American micro brews and good food. It doesn't have to be fancy but the food needs to be well made, not an after thought.

How's Rock and Rye Tavern in New Paltz? They're doing HVRW and the menu looks pretty decent. I've never heard of them before seeing them on the list.

Try the Gunk Haus, just outside of New Paltz. Good beer, good food.

            1. Bacchus in New Paltz has a world class beer list and had some pretty interesting food on a recent late afternoon visit. http://www.bacchusnewpaltz.com/
            2. Rock & Rye is solid and our go to for dinner when we are in the area. Good beer list & v.g. food. More of an upscale dining experience, for sure and quaint/inn-like surroundings.
            3. Mountain Brauhaus is a family-style traditional German restaurant right outside of New Paltz. If you like German beer, this is your place. http://www.mountainbrauhaus.com/
