Neither of those are in Chelsea...

    2. Toro
      Scarpetta
I used to LOVE Montmartre under the old chef, but have heard nothing about it since his departure.

NOTE: The NoMad is not in Chelsea.

NoMad is 400 feet from what is technically Chelsea...close enough. Quality determined the choice.

      2. Personally I love Forager's City Table. I feel like it sorta flies under the radar but I've had more than a few fantastic meals there.

I've had good food at Forager's but I find the portions to be very delicate to the point where I'm eyeing all the groceries after having finished dinner there.

        2. Friends in the area rave so much about Old Homestead Steakhouse that it's on my list for the next visit to NYC. They claim it's the best in town, better than Peter Luger's. 56 9th Ave.

            1. We recently spent a few days in NYC and hit Chelsea twice, so smitten were we. Our favorite meal of the journey was lunch at Cull & Pistol inside the market, not the least dish was an appetizer plate of fresh house made (that morning) pasta with black truffle and butter sauce and topped with shaved truffles. That is one dish I will think about again and again, you know the kind. And we had Lebanese wine which was surprisingly good and a good value. We also had oysters and lobster there,
which likely came from The Lobster Place nearby in the mall, so we stopped in there another day and got more oysters and slurped them perched on one of the diner type stools in there, but what a feast for the eyes. Seafood lovers, bring tissues.

After those oysters, we went to Old Homestead Steakhouse outside of the market and enjoyed an incredible steak and tater tot side, also a side of local color - some people watching, a little police activity...

So those are some places I would recommend!
