        The comments are more interesting than the story, such as the one from "Colt" :

        "I don't drink cocktails that cost less than $25. For cocktails at $14 I might as well go to the Walmart at Dufferin Mall"

        Colt probably had a great time at grilled cheese fest!

          I think Colt was likely dripping with sarcasm in that comment. :-)

            The comments are hysterical on that page. Especially like how The Grilled Cheese Festival is now the new measuring stick as to what people will pay and how much they will tolerate before rioting.

            If anyone goes please do report back. I am curious to see if the food is up there in terms of quality or if they are more focused on "ambiance" and attracting the cool crowd.

              I've been in twice now for lunch, and I have to say, it's great! I had the Chipotle BBQ Shortrib Poutine and the Coconut Shrimp Po'Boy Salad. Both were outstanding; fries crispy, gravy rich and the beef smokey hot and sweet. Fall apart tender. Shrimp were perfectly fried in a coconut cornmeal batter with a ginger/lime dressing and a chunky tomato remolade. Salad was baby spinach, red peppers and avocado. The only downside was the filler of iceberg lettuce rounding out the salad. Service is warm and friendly. I have a feeling they'll be around for a while!

                passed by the other night and it was pretty full. good vibe about the place and great service. just had a drink and no food. i'll try them for lunch on the weekend.

                Huh, I just never got that vibe from the old location or the owner. Found the whole thing very unpretentious, and refreshingly so.

                Now as someone who walked over from Bay St for lunch, I *was* disappointed they went with a west of Bathurst location because it's too far for lunch!

                OK I finally read the BlogTO piece and hmmm. I can see the concern. I get that they want to attract an evening crowd, but I would have been happy with reasonably priced, HEARTY food and pints. Somewhere to fill up before or after another bar. Tapas and cocktails seems too precious, too much in contrast with the previous vibe, and unlikely to fill the belly. Or if they must do cocktails, do something simple and good at a good price point - that was the whole joy of the food.
