Has anyone been to Central Market (Petaluma) since they re-opened?

My darling sister gave us a gift certificate, and we'll be trying it this Friday. This will be the first time we've been, so any menu suggestions/thoughts are welcome!

  1. Oh, it's SO good! You'll love it, everything is incredibly fresh and tasty. Since it's your first time, I'd suggest the Chef's tasting menu. Not sure if that's available on Fridays though...

      Thanks, JennaJay! I'm very much looking forward to it.

      (added benefit...we live within walking distance, so wine will be consumed...)

        Even better! They have an amazing wine list that includes a bunch of Sonoma Coast Pinots, which are some of my personal favorites.

    2. It was a lovely meal.

      They started us off with a complimentary plate of a sort of flatbread served with a scoop of (I think) duck liver pate. I could have kept eating that for hours.

      The spousal unit had cabbage rolls stuffed with lamb, and then lamb T-bone steaks (he really likes lamb...);
      I had a wild mushroom and potato chowder, followed by braised beef short ribs. All delicious.

      The service was very good; attentive without being overbearing.

      We'll be back!
