Linger Lodge -Bradenton
Has anyone eaten here recently? Looks interesting, but don't want to take visitors there if the food is terrible.
I have not been there in at least five years, but when I went, it was a unique experience--very much in the middle of nowhere, overlooking (and I mean practically on top of) a river tributary, lots of stuffed animals and heads on the walls, a lot of local Florida cuisine, like gator or smoked mullet and catfish. The food is down-home, old-fashioned southern cooking. This is not gourmet dining, but I thought the food was pretty good. My recommendation: Go for lunch and eat on the porch overlooking the river, unless it is too hot to do so.
