Anson mills pop corn

Hi, I love anson mills products, but they require some technique sometimes and some pre planning....soaking over night etc..so I bought the pop corn expecting some great movie munchies...but they came out very chewy and hard kernels..most anson mills products come with no instructions so you need to surf their web site for recipes..anyway..has anybody has success with the pop corn? I just cooked it like normal popcorn...

    Oh yeah. It is the best popcorn I have ever had. All you need to do is put some oil in a heavy pot and get it hot. I use safflower oil for the high smoking point. Put 2 or 3 kernels in the oil as its heating, and when they pop you know the oil is ready to go. Put the rest of the popcorn in the pot, close the lid, and turn the heat down a little so the popcorn doesn't burn. Then shake the pot every now and then to distribute the oil/heat and the popcorn will start popping. I like to let some steam escape once the kernels start really popping so the kernels don't steam or get soggy. After they have all popped put in a bowl, drizzle some butter, salt, and whatever else you want to put on it and you have a great bowl of popcorn. I bought a 10lb bag of the stuff from Anson Mills a few months ago and am almost done with it. I have also tried many other kernels and anson mills is my favorite.
