Lunch in Nottingham

Am taking my son out who's at Nottingham Uni. Can't be a long one as he has lectures pm, so sadly no Sat Bains blow out!

I have a car. Any thoughts on anywhere a short walk/drive away? Would prefer not to spend all our time stuck in the one way system!!

  1. It's been a while since i was in Nottngham but last time I was there I had a nice meal at Iberico Tapas. Looking at their website they have a 2013 bib gourmand so presumably the quality has held.

    1. I can't be any help, I'm afraid.

But the thread does remind me I'm well overdue a return visit to Sat's

Have you ever stayed overnight at his B&B? I'm tempted to try it out one day.. with the meal!!

Nah. Don't believe everything the Daily Mail has to say about the generosity of public sector pensions. LOL

It ain't cheap - we stayed in one of the city centre chains (Mrs H was on their "deals" mailing list).

By the by, there was an ugly exchange on egullet between Sat and a customer. As I recall, customer, travelling alone, had booked the overnight deal with dinner. When it came to pay, the restaurant wanted to charge him for two dinners, claiming the overnight deal was for two people. The restaurant was right - it's website is clear on this - but some of the language used was, lets say, not in the best traditions of hospitality.

At least someone *has* a pension. :-)

Yes, to stay at Sat's costs a pretty penny. We'd probably choose the nearest Premier Inn.

We went to visit Rochester (the town, not Jack Benny's sidekick) the other day. Nary a decent-looking place for lunch so we drove home. :-)
