Places to write in Queens

  • 9

Where are the best cafes, coffeeshops, etc. to write in Queens? I've been to Sweetleaf in LIC and thought it was pretty solid... where else? I've noticed Astoria is oddly lacking in this department.

  1. Have you tried the Astor Bake Shop in old Astoria? There's even a library across the street if you need to do some research or use a printer.

Have heard good things but haven't been there yet... I'll check it out, thanks!

    2. Panera Bread by the movie theater in Astoria. I've spent a whole day at a table studying without any problems :-)

      1. I thought this blog was about food.

You can eat in most coffeeshops last time I checked.

That's what I figured you were looking for :-) By no means is it gourmet, but it's a decent cup of coffee at the very least. Hope this helps!

No need to be snarky. Your original post said NOTHING about food, just where to write.

          2. Astoria is oddly lacking? In my mind, it's the only neighborhood left in NYC with a bunch of cafes- greek or otherwise- where you can sit for as long as you want nursing a coffee or something else- off the top of my head here are a few.

            Athens cafe
            Lefkos Pyrgos
            Bar Cafe
            Avenue cafe
            Grand cafe
            Waltz-Astoria
            Cafe francis
            Martha's Bakery

Bakeway is another one...although it's dangerous...they have great fresh brewed iced tea and amazing pastries :-)
