Marguerite, how was your recent trip to Montreal, food-wise? >

Did you find any good Italian restaurants? We ate at Toque and La Chronique, as well as some good little ethnic places further up on St. Denis.

We tried 3 restaurants, one of which was Toque - we found it very good & the decor was beautiful. We also tried La Sila for Italian food & it was ok, nothing special, but the service was excellent. The 3rd restaurant was Maestro SVP & i think it might have been you that warned about the coconut shrimp there - well, you were right - we split one appetizer of the shrimp & it was awful - luckily, the rest of the meal was better - i had the scallops which were quite tasty and my husband had the big-eye tuna w/a rum & soy type of sauce & it was delicious (i wish i had gotten it too). Eggspectation was delicious for breakfast and Second Cup in Old Montreal was great for a break. Thank you & everyone else for all the suggestions.

Oh, by the way, while the bagels were very good i still say Brooklyn, NY has better! ;-D
