Lunch on a Monday?

angelo04 Feb 16, 2014 02:46 PM

Any suggestions for a chowworthy higher end place for lunch on Monday within a half hour of Old Bridge? Too many snow days so the kids have school and opportuniy knocks for me and my wife to get out for a bit. Monday most good places are closed so I am drawing a blank on where we should go.

Great minds think alike JR,....but they are closed.

Drews did lunch just during the holidays. Fromagerie and Belford Bistro stopped doing lunch. I get its tough to pull in alunch crowd and jts a Monday.

Looks like Nemo or El Meson are the winners today.

Manalapan's not too far; you might try Peking Pavilion on Route 33. They are open Mondays.

While I tend to not like chains, another couple joined us and we landed at the new bonefish grill in Manalapan. One of the better chains IMHO, and they have good cocktails

I will "assume' it is universal but I know the one in Middletown, NJ Rt. 35, has excellent happy hour both food and drink specials. They are owned by the same parent company of Outback and I agree they are on the better end of the chain scale.

I know now this is too late, but what about D'Jeet or Mumfords?

Makes me want to go our for lunch today!! ha ha

(It might take 40 minutes to get there, but who cares..the food is so good at both!! I have used Mumfords for numerous catering events, and have never been disappointed!)
