Tonight, Valentines day (worst night on earth!) near the Ritz. Dinner for 1![San Francisco]

Last minute travel plans have me staying at the Ritz for a night and it's Valentines Day which is just about the worst night to be dining spontaneously alone! I'm not picky about the type, style or cost of food as long as it's awesome! Any and all suggestions will be appreciated. I will be in town on Saturday morning & afternoon as well so any ideas around those meals are welcome too.

I don't have a suggestion for you. But I will comment that a big problem with Valentine's day is that a lot of restaurants mandate Prix Fixe menus which up the cost and greatly reduce the selection.

So, if you don't want that, you should call ahead to make sure that is not the case.

I would suggest Barbacco. It is mostly communal and bar seating. So there is bound to be a seat for 1 person available. I wouldn't look online for a solo reservation, you would be better off calling.

Easiest would be to eat at Parallel 37 at the Ritz. Unfortunately I've never been so cannot attest to its awesomeness or lack thereof.

Maybe the sushi bar at Akiko's? Very respectable omakase.
