Looking for wedding caterer

SugarJ Feb 11, 2014 07:03 PM

We are planning our wedding to be held at the Marigny Opera House this fall, and we need to find a caterer. We will be a smaller group and having outstanding food is important to us. Budget isn't so much of an issue -we just want really yummy food! This is a destination wedding for us and our guests so I think we would like the food to reflect a classic New Orleans style.

Any advice/recommendations would be appreciated!

I am using Joels for my daughter's April wedding. They have done other family weddings and those of friends. Very professional and the food is delicious.

Thanks. The Marigny Opera House is a firm decision for us so we need to find caterers that can serve us there. From what we've seen on this board and others, Joel and Food Art seem to be the way to go (thanks @HungryCelest), but hearing about first hand recommendations is always a plus!

Wedding best bets include Joel Catering (the Joel in question is Joel Dondis of Sucre & Le Petit Grocerie): http://www.joels.com/ and Food Art catering: http://www.foodartinc.com/

Hmm ... classic New Orleans style? You cancel the MOH reservation and book a private dining room at Antoine's.

The question you ask comes up pretty often; I'm sure there are threads in the archives you can search through. It's unfortunate that few of the people asking the "wedding caterer" question don't follow up ... I'd honestly like to have a better answer for you.
