Breakfast near Thomas Circle/McPherson Square

  • 5

Hi All,

I'll be in town next week for a few meetings. I'm staying at the Donovan House near Thomas Circle and I need to meet a colleague for breakfast on Thursday morning. Any recs for a good place for us to meet in that general area? It shouldn't be too pricey and it would be nice if it was a place where we could sit and chat for awhile without having anyone right on top of us (so no Dunkin Donuts for example).

Thank you!

  1. Hi Elyssa -- a lot of my colleagues like to get breakfast from Soho Kitchen at 13th and K. Nothing fancy, obviously, but also no rush either.

For a chain, the Corner Bakery at Vermont and K has pretty good breakfast food.

If the weather were nice, I'd suggest a walk to Woodward Takeout Food (WTF) at 15th and H, but you're likely going to awaken to several inches of snow on Thursday. 8<(

I should mention this is NEXT Thursday so luckily I won't need to deal with the snow---I hope. You guys are getting 6-14 inches I hear. Yikes!

Is Soho Kitchen a sit down restaurant or one of those buffets where they weight the food? I feel like I remember something with a similar name in Eastern Market years ago when I worked there.

Food by the pound! I think there are a few of them in DC. It's actually not bad and they have a huge selection.

    2. Someone recommended the Juice Joint at 10th and Vermont. Does that have seating or is it just a take out spot?

Juice Joint is not bad either. There's one in the same block on Vermont as Corner Bakery. I think I ate in there once, so they must have seating!
