Cozy Dine-at-the-bar Sunday Foodie Lunch in New Haven area?

missykins Feb 10, 2014 12:53 PM

Hi all,

Just moved back to the NEW HAVEN area from Boston and am in search of a lunch place for an intimate and cozy/romantic meal on Sunday. Ive searched through the posts and am considering Soul de Cuba, Pacifico maybe? Caesus's menu seems perfect but not open on Sundays.

Any thoughts? All cuisines are an option and budget not an issue. Im reuniting with an "old friend" and would like to linger over great food and drinks for hours. Weve typically liked the dine-at-the-bar dynamic if that's possible.

Thanks all!

If you're willing to drive out to Hamden, Mikro Beer Bar at 3000 Whitney Ave may be what you're looking for.

It's a little strip mall in Mount Carmel, just north of the highway. (But the restaurant space has a very cozy bar vibe.)

A bit after the fact--Next time consider Roia in the old Taft Hotel? Gorgeous food and decor.
