Brebirousse D'Argental

I don't have the cheesy :) vocabulary that some of you do, so I'll quote from this link:

"An ooey-gooey wonder sure to please any crowd, with a creamy paste that threatens to run free of its annatto-tinged rind. Luscious and silky enough for brie-lovers, sheepy and full-flavored enough for the most adventurous palate, its bright orange rind refuses to be ignored, but its delicate sweetness balances the buttery intensity with aplomb."

WE LOVE THIS CHEESE!!!!! We're in NYC and found this keeper at Westside Market on Broadway at 77th. They have a BIG selection of French cheeses but you could just tell that this one was going to try to run all over the plate :) Goodness, it good.

  1. And very befitting this month's cheese of the month theme!

    Have fun!

French Alpes region, EmB selected. Alpine cheeses.

I guess I thought that thread was about those particular cheeses.

                  You're always such a rebel :)

It does say the brebirousse region is rhone-alpes. I don't know what that means then. But I'm one of those who just knows what she likes :)

                  1. re: c oliver

Rhone Alpes is a very large geo-political region. The part that borders Switzerland includes part of the Alps and is at high elevation, two of the factors that tend to define Alpine cheese.

Shame on me! I could have sworn I searched. Maybe I mistyped. I need to stick with Google.

I'm going to see if the mods can work some magic, either take these posts to the other thread or lock this one with a link to the other.

          2. At the original poster's request, we're locking this in deference to this thread; http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/962005
