Any new updates on Rally Sports Bar?

I looked through the other threads but they were mostly chit-chat, I didn't see any that actually discussed the food but I am sure it's interspersed somewhere in those threads. I am going over there tonight to meet up with a dozen other car nuts and was wondering what the recommended items are, if any.

  1. I know Googs is a fan of the monster Burger (it's next up for me to try, but maybe the small!)
    I quite enjoyed the brisket, but I am by no means an afficiando of smoked meats.
    Googs also speaks highly of the specials.
    Enjoy you night and let us know what you have and how it is.
    Just remembered they are participating in Winterlicious, so that menu may be worth a look.

      Thanks, I am just heading over now but already had my home made corned beef for dinner. I am going to look for something small to try out.

        Well out of 10 or 11 people, nobody likes the food. We are still here. I may write it up later.

            I just got home. When was the last time you at at Rally Sports Bar? There was one person who liked the food, but he's the youngest of the bunch (around 18) and probably does not know any better.

            I had the Shrimp Po Boy, the batter on the shrimp was oily, onion rings were oily and tasteless, coleslaw was tasteless but crunchy. I was thinking that my wife's horse would have liked it. I left 75% of the onion rings, as they were not really edible. I left 50% of the coleslaw. Person across from me ordered the 3 pulled pork sliders as app, he didn't like those and his beef brisket was too salty. Guy who ordered the monster burger didn't like that one, he told me why but I forget what he said. Someone ordered poutine and didn't think that was good, only ate 1/2 of it and proceeded to tell me of a place that had good poutine... Nobody else was really crazy about their food. I can get the details from them before I write it up with more info if you really want to hear more. I am not writing anything further till Saturday evening or Sunday as I will be busy till then.
            I'm sure this is not what you wanted to hear, but it is an accurate description of how it was. When I was sitting there and wondering how the food was the way it was, I was thinking maybe they sent all the cooks to Sochi to cook for the Canadian Team and the b-team was on duty. And I also thought that for $8 I can walk over to Simone's and get a very nice shrimp roti.

              I always wanna hear the truth. It's been about a month, give or take, since I've been. I consider myself semi-regular, say couple of times a month. I think you'll find I'm not the only one here who's liked the food. That said, I respect your opinion and believe if you say it was so, it was. Sounds to me like their regular cook wasn't in the house. I can think of no other explanation. Wonder if they're saving him for hockey...
