Wait times at The Breslin for dinner

cherrypicker1972 Feb 6, 2014 06:13 PM

Hi folks,

A friend and I will be in town this weekend and I want to check out the Breslin for dinner on a Sunday around 7pm. Are we crazy?

Should we expect a long wait? Do they let people sit at the bar while they wait? Is there at least a warm place to sit and wait?

Appreciate your advice and wisdom!

Nah, Sunday at 7 p.m. should be fine. It *is* Fashion Week, which is traditionally busier, but a Sunday that early will be a minimal wait.

You can sit or stand in the bar area, or even sit in the hotel lobby if you want.

Breslin is going through a calm period, but it's the kind of place that can turn into a zoo when you least expect it. A reservation would alleviate any anxiety.

Eating in the lobby is actually my preference. That said, the lobby has been more crowded than usual the past couple weeks.

They don't take reservations, except for hotel guests or friends of the house. And lobby is definitely going to be a zoo this week, since it's NYFW.

I've done brunch there on a few occasions. I never knew that they'd serve food at the lobby (of the hotel).

They do but it's a separate menu, not the full menu.

I've never noticed much of an extra crush during Fashion Week. Maybe later in the evening, and there's more car services outside waiting for pickups, but the Ace isn't converged on like one might think. The logjam would still be the students that sit there for hours.

Eh, I don't know... I've spent ~10 Fashion Weeks there now and it definitely ups the volume. Perhaps it depends on when you are there.
