Turning my notifications off...............

jrvedivici Feb 5, 2014 01:00 PM

I just went to my profile to turn my notifications off and I noticed this verbiage;

"You'll get an email when someone replies to one of your posts."

Don't you get a notification anytime someone comments on any thread you are involved in? Not just if they reply to your post directly? Am I mistaken?

    We've updated the verbiage on the Settings page to make more sense. It now reads: "You'll get an email when someone replies to a discussion you're following."

    Thanks again!

      Thanks Dave! So it’s fair to say that I, Jr, my hand has brushed upon the core of Chow and have left an eternal change for all users that shall follow. From this day forward Chow shall always reflect a little part of me (tear swelling in my eye) every time someone turns their notifications on or off they will receive a little message which contains a tiny part of my soul…………(tear rolls down cheek) Thank you Dave MP, Thank you!!

        Jr, not all notifications are significant, but when you are alerted to this one you may want to check to be sure your fly is zipped.

          Thank you very much Veggo, there are few people I would want to share this moment with more than you my friend.

          You're welcome. :)

        You are not mistaken. The verbiage is a bit misleading, so I apologize about that.

        It really ought to say "You'll get an email when someone replies to one of your followed discussions"

          K too bad because I would love if we could be notified just when someone responds directly to our posts. I'm just inundated with notifications that really have nothing to do with my comments or contribution to a topic.

          So do I get my own board now for discovering this error???

            <"I'm just inundated with notifications that really have nothing to do with my comments or contribution to a topic.">

            That's why I turned my notifications off after One Day a long time ago.
