Crown Prince or similar canned anchovies 5/10/12-pack cheap?

I've been buying these from Costco for years but haven't found them lately in Richmond, SF, San Leandro, Hayward, or Redwood City. They still have them on the business delivery site for $6.27 for a five-pack so maybe they're at some other branch.

Alternatively, some other place with good olive oil-packed fillets for around the same $1.25 a can? I don't want big cans or salt-packed.

  1. I seem to remember seeing a 3 pack at Smart & Final pretty reasonably priced. Green can, can't recall the brand.

40% more expensive, but that's the cheapest online deal I've seen so far, thanks.

      2. For standard inexpensive anchovies, I like "Roland Flat Fillets of Anchovies" in the red and yellow can. Packed in Olive oil. 2 ounce cans.

I buy them at Calmart in Laurel Village in SF. Not sure of the price but I don't think they are much more than $2 or maybe less.

        1. local for me-SF- Costco and TJs have both stopped carrying canned anchovies.
I asked management (well, folks at TJ window and floor manager at Costco) but no one had an explanation.

Yes, I have found that too. They didn't have any at Smart and Final on Bayshore either. I miss buying them at Costco.

About a year ago I bought a pack of canned anchovies from Costco. Most of them were fine but one of them exploded when I opened it (I did not eat it).
Maybe quality control was the problem.

I doubt that's it, since they still sell them through the delivery service.

This afternoon I bought 3 tins of Trader Joe's Anchovy Fillets in Olive Oil (net 2 oz., drained 1.08 oz) for $1.49 each at their Emeryville store. The can says that it is a "Product of Italy."

Last night TJ's in Rockridge had the same ones described by zippo.

                2. Saw them at TJs today in Menlo Park 1.49 a can
