  1. Free iceberg lettuce.

Actually, it varies. You need to check their Twitter feed.

    1. Googled "Chopt snow"

Brought me to their twitter feed

      Also, tumblr

      I love the Internet!

      1. I don't understand these places. They take chopped lettuce, and then chop it some more. Why would anyone want a salad diced like rabbit food or cole slaw?

How does anyone eat these things?

          LOL
I always see a long line there...youngish..stylish people.
I went there once with a coworker, bought a bowl of salad, ate it and scratched my head...and never went back.

            It's the Subway of Salads.

Soon enough NYC will have its share of "build your own" pizzas like Pieology, 800 Degrees, etc.

Salad Bars aren't exactly revolutionary. I like a good salad bar. The ingredients even look better than the usual NY prefab plastic tub of lettuce kind of place. They have a Chipotle-esque attempt at sustainable sourcing, and everything looks like it should work in a bowl, tossed together.

And yet.... is it even possible anyone inside those places knows what a Salad is?

I eat at Chopt almost five days a week. Their salads are big and fresh and affordable for workday lunch. They have decent variety and interesting ingredients. It's a much healthier alternative to so much else of what's available nearby. Sure, I'd rather eat Mapo Tofu at Land of Plenty every day but my waistline can't afford it.

And I never wait in line. I call ahead and walk straight up to the register, no fuss.

What's worse is that I eat in the IBM atrium! Total scene.

I just tried the new ramen place called Hinomaru on 53rd if you are into ramen....they have salad too!

Hmm, I'll have to try it. I usually go to Katsuhama for their vegetarian menchanko and the spot on 56th for the curry ramen. Would love to try another.

Motorsports emailed me awhile ago for another lunch meeting. we should all meet up again in the ramen place. I can certainly use a nice hot bowl of ramen.
