Lunch near the Metropolitan Museum on a Saturday?

We will coming to NYC to see the JAR exhibit at the Met on a Saturday. There will be six adults and we can walk to a restaurant nearby. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Hi! I can't find any information on MarieLuncheonette in Manhattan. Can you tell me where it is? Thanks.

    1. You don't mention any preferences, but it's my neighborhood and I love a few places on Madison between 92nd and 93rd: Pascalou and Le Paris for French bistro and Paola's for elegant Roman cuisine. Cafe d'Alsace is also convenient to the Met and very good. For something a bit fancier Cafe Boulud is wonderful. Best to reserve for all. Do a search on this board and you'll find other options. BTW: The JAR exhibit is fabulous!

Thank you. I made a reservation at Le Paris. It sounds perfect. I appreciate your help.

Hope you enjoy Le Paris and the Met!

        2. Persepolis is a Persian restaurant on 2nd between 73rd and 74th. I especially like the chicken stew (khoresht fesenjan) but everything I've had there is good.
An added bonus is that they are open all day starting at noon, so you can eat there at odd hours. They have a lunch special from 12-6 of two courses for $17, a bargain in that neighborhood.

that's a bit of a walk from 82nd and Fifth, especially if the weather is bad.

Plenty of closer places...like the wonderful Turkish restaurant Beyoglu at 81st and Third Ave.

<They have a lunch special from 12-6 of two courses for $17>

I just checked their website and saw only a 3-course $25 lunch. Which bummed me out, 'cause I work right near there and would have jumped on the 2-course thing.

They must have just changed that-I ate there on the first weekend of February and they still had the 2-course special.

            2. Untitled at the Whitney Museum
              Ristorante Rosi
Cafe Sabarsky at the Neue Galerie (or Cafe Fledermaus downstairs - same menu, no line)

+1 for Cafe Sabarsky, but I'd recommend getting there by 11:30 to try to avoid the line.

I've also enjoyed lunch at E.A.T. http://www.elizabar.com/EAT-C25.aspx , Sant Ambroeus (for a splurge http://www.santambroeus.com/sa_madiso... ) and 3 Guys (for a relatively economical coffee shop/diner lunch, pretty good salads and lentil soup http://www.menupages.com/restaurants/...).

Cafe Sabarsky/Cafe Fledermaus is right across the street, so it surely wins for convenience, and at this time of year, the Austrian food is a great choice. It's also very good.

Ristorante Rosi is a good choice too. but not as close by.

                2. Thank you all for your help. I made a reservation at Le Paris but am keeping all other suggestions for future visits. Thanks for responding.
