Culver City corner of Centinela and Washington Blvd Food center development
Interesting proposal to have an open air food vendor stalls. I'm not sure the flow and demographics of the area would support the concept. As a local, I'd love to see it happen. But realistically is a Ferry Building, Grand Central Market concept really possible at this location?
"This project will redevelop the two northern corners of Washington Boulevard at Centinela Avenue. The project will enhance the area by constructing a market hall. The market hall will be a place where singular vendors can come together under one roof to sell their products such as purveyors of artisanal cheeses and charcuterie, a bakery, chocolatier and related confections, wine, locally grown produce, specialty coffee, flowers, organic meats, and other high-quality products."
they will be competing with the whole foods that is slated to be built at Playa Vista.
for me, personally, this is very good news.
i hope they can pull it off.
Hope it turns out to be more like Borough Market in London rather than the market in Santa Monica Place (which seems a bit... barren? Not sure if that's the right term).
I haven't the slightest idea how possible it is, but I think it'd be a great addition....
Is anything new happening with it? They've had those plans forever. Realistically it going to end up being like Parcel B in downtown CC, 5 years later still a parking lot.
How amazing would it be if we had anything even close to Borough market or the Ferry Building!
