Butter Midtown

We're thinking of trying Butter midtown for pre-theater. Has anyone been?

    1. I've never been to the midtown location as it is quite new, but the one downtown is great.

      I got the charcuterie platter and braised shortribs when I was there. Great New-American food.

        1. Now that you mention it, you're right: Butter's meat options are pretty darn good. That being said, I've only been to the one downtown, so I can't say much about the food at midtown...

          My sister ordered scallops the last time we were there, and they didn't turn out as well as my shortribs or mom's duck breast.

          1. last night's dinner at Butter was fantastic. the space is classy - dark and clean and modern. service was friendly, professional and unintrusive. not so sure about the Star Trek bridesmaid dresses they're made to wear...

            i had what may have been the most perfectly prepared piece of pork of my life. Nicely seared and slightly pink in the center, topped with mustard and a generous portion of shiitake mushrooms, all of which played really well with each other. the skillet potato cake was a bit too oily, but not in a way that made it unenjoyable. not sure i'd order it again. the artichoke hearts with gruyere are reason enough to return.
