    1. re: JAB

is it a little better than the famous al and beau's ???? have you been to that one ?

      thanks JAB.

And no I'm not getting you an extra drink for that recommendation. :)

      You guys are bankrupting me.

      1. re: kevin

Lol, I have no answer then. Seriously, much better. I've never gotten Al and Bea's.

        1. re: JAB

+1 on not getting Al and Bea's. IIRC, their beans are very lardy?

        2. re: kevin

I've been to both. The beans are just richer and better at Al and Bea's. I do like that they put chilies in the burrito at Lupe's though.

      2. Al and Bea's green chili and cheese. No question.

        1. El Burrito jr - Redondo Beach, order it 'wet'

That sauce is like fucking candy!

What I order at El Burrito Jr. is Special "C" 2 Bean & Cheese Burritos with medium drink under 6 bucks

              1. re: wienermobile

...and not to get off topic, but they have a killer carnitas quesadilla too...side of guac...heaven.

                1. re: wienermobile

I have never seen or heard of anyone ordering anything BUT the special C. I thought the rest of the menu was just for show.

2 Bean & Cheese Burritos with medium drink

                      1. re: wienermobile

                        Ok. That'd what I'll get.

This is El Burrito Jr on PCH in Redondo Beach, right ??????

And does it come doused wet with the enchilada sauce ????

                        Thanks buddy.

                        1. re: kevin

Not special C. I don't know if they would charge extra for wet or not.

                2. re: wienermobile

                  Indeed.

I'd rate the Lomita location as 2nd (closest to me), and Torrance 3rd.
Something just really turns me off that Torrance location.

                3. re: Novelli

I get to Redondo Beach less often than I get to Hawaii...is the El Burrito Jr. on LaBrea south of Pico the same?

I expect not, because I went there today. No C special, and an unmemorable bean and cheese.

Was very curious about "Top Round" roast beef place next door, tho'.

                4. Mexi-Catessan in Monterey Park. Their beans are amazing

                    1. re: WildSwede

                      address please ?

I think there might be multiple ones of sabroso

                      Thanks buddy.

                      1. re: kevin

Nah, I think there is only one.. or at least there SHOULD only be one since that is the only one that matters! ;-)
                        Sorry, it is actually CP.

cool, thanks maybe that's why i had trouble finding it.

                          1. re: kevin

Yeah, sorry. My bad. Just make sure that they KNOW you want the Enchilada sauce inside the damn burrito. Even though it says it on the menu, for some reason, whenever I order it (and mention 5+ times to make sure the sauce is inside) they seem to "forget". However, the last few times I said that I will bring it back if it is wrong and it has come out correctly.

                    2. Honestly? Del Taco 99ยข Green Burrito. <ducks> I could live on that.

I also recently love Calle Tacos. If you want to add guac, tomato, lettuce and pico de gallo. Because they do all that stuff up fresh.

                      Gonna hafta check out Mexi-Catessen.

I trade off between the Green Burrito and the Jacked up. Burrito with bean, rice, and jack chesse (now 0.85 vs 0.75 a few weeks ago). Something I do is break up a hard taco into my Green Burrito, anybody else do this?

A road trip to Al and Bea's is in order one day for me, sounds good.

                        1. re: Scotty

I like the jacked up burrito with the green sauce. I LOVE their breakfast burrito (no bacon, extra extra red sauce).

                          1. re: WildSwede

Where ? with the breakfast burrito no bacon area you taking about ?

Is this in reference to Del Taco ????? I sure hope not.

                            1. re: kevin

Yes, Del Taco is what I am referencing. ;-)

                            2. re: WildSwede

+1 Breakfast burrito. I get it with beans added. I haven't tried the Jacked Up, nor sacrificing a crispy taco to the burrito. That sounds wrong, but I'll do anything once. There are, btw, some free coupons on their FB page today. https://www.facebook.com/deltaco?v=ap...

                              1. re: jesstifer

Thanks! I actually like the taste of their turkey tacos better than the beef ones. Del Taco is the closest fast food to my office, so I seem to go there often.

                        2. J&S in Montebello & Burrito Express in Pasadena.

J&S is a very guilty pleasure for me :) Great B&C burritos and I like their hard shell tacos with the dark red/brown salsa. So greasy but oh so good

                          2. It really doesn't matter as long as it's made *with* lard and *without* black beans.

                            1. Mario's in Pico Rivera. Family owned and hasn't changed a bit in over 35 years. The fries and red and green burritos are also very good. Always a must stop for me.

                              1. Kevin, what did you think of Al & Beas today?

I really really really like it.

It's great stuff and has a good flavor.

                                  I'm a fan.

But then again I'm also a fan of bean and cheese burritos from taco bell.

Anyhow two bean and cheese burritos and a biggeee diet coke for under the proverbial ten spot.
