Best place to buy raw chicken wings

I want to make buffalo wings this weekend, and I'm looking for advice on the best place to buy raw chicken wings. I'm looking for something meaty and not super expensive. Thanks!

  1. Are you in the city or the suburbs. Are you a member of any clubs (Sams, Costco, BJs).

Are you willing to buy frozen or must it be fresh? How much are you buying?

BTW there is always a spike in price, and a general chicken wing shortage around the "Big Game."

I'm downtown, not a club member, looking for a couple 2-3 lbs, frozen is o.k

Quality wise you cannot beat Guintas at the Reading Terminal. They are not the cheapest, but they are very good and meaty. If you have a freezer, they have a fabulous fifty dollar Poultry pack that comes out to about 2.50 per lb of meat.

For cheaper, perhaps someone can talk abut oriental markets on Oregon ave, or Washington Ave or even Chinatown that might be a better deal.

giunta's sometimes has a per pound price and a 5 pound price.
