Great market soup?

Having lived in London for a few months, I got used to the availability of a wide variety of great, fresh soups in the grocery store packaged for reheating at home. I've been looking around NOVA, trying to find a source for something other than chicken noodle, minestrone or clam chowder and I'm coming up empty. Whole Foods in Reston had a few, but no where near the variety that Waitrose carried, and the quantity and quality of vegetables in their soups leaves a lot to be desired.

I've been to Wegmans, Trader Joe's and Wholefoods. Anyone have ideas of where else to try?

  1. Harris Teeter has a fair selection of soups both to reheat at home and as part of a salad bar. I've gotten the chowder (to take home) a couple times and enjoyed it.

found a nice English Pea soup here, with a little added mint is was tasty. Also going to try their Moroccan lentil/chickpea.

    2. You might be able to get delivery/pickup from souper girl but she only has a couple soups a week (and it's not cheap).

      1. google "100 Bowls of Soup". She used to come to the Reston Farmers Market, but I believe she now sells her soups through various local outlets.

Forgot about this company. I see they distribute at MoM's and that's on my list to check out as well.

        2. balducci's has a nice selection of both hot and refrigerated soups.
