  1. Great news! We were at the Boyle Heights location a week ago and had an assortment of delicious tacos and a quesadilla. All were delicious, great home-made tortillas, nicely stuffed with chicharron, mole poblano, shrimp, etc. The salsas and sauces were especially good -- very tasty with just the right amount of heat. The shrimp tacos were the absolute best I've ever had -- the shrimp was NOT overcooked, as is usually the case. Nice variety of tasty aguas as well, including the Armando Palmero (a mixture of the limon + jamaica aguas. The owner was gracious and attentive, as was the entire staff. He mentiobned the new DTLA location. We will be going to Guisado's again soon.

The hubster and I love the Boyle Heights location. The shrimp taco is divine. The aguas - lovely. Can't wait for it to be even closer!

    2. I like the part about 50 seats and beer. The East LA site is just too small.

Tried to hit up the silverlake location over the weekend. Line out the door, left because I couldn't find parking.

I wasn't going there, but I saw the line too driving by on my way to GCM - it was like a dozen deep out the door.

      2. Guisados? And breakfast? And beer and wine?

Christmas is coming WAY early this year : )

        1. It's going to be a nice addition to DTLA just too bad I don't like their tortillas.

wouldn't it great if the guisados were served on something other than the tortillas? like.. o, iunno.. jasmine rice? or gua bao? anything but yet another damned tortilla?

                Tortilla ennui...así es la vida

                1. re: Servorg

google translate comes up empty for ennui

                  1. re: ns1

It's a crossover term from French to English to Spanish meaning aburrimiento

                    1. re: Servorg

k, gonna need a translate because google is coming up short.

                      something about lost in translation.

                      Tortilla ennui that's life ..

                      1. re: ns1

You may be running these terms through "Gurgle" rather than "Google" if you aren't finding any definitions. Better check again.
