Something New Going @ Mesmer and Jefferson

Pedaling by the old Denny's space there just below the 405 Freeway and Jefferson about an hour ago I noticed that a construction fence was up, which is new since last week. Can I dream it's the latest location for Brent's Deli? (g) I can only hope that's it! Anyone with more info please so chime in. Let's put it this way, I am assuming it will be another restaurant of some sort and I just hope it's not some ho-hum chain place like Marie Callender's or that ilk.

  1. dunno what will be going in there, but i don't believe that it would necessarily be a restaurant at all.
(can't imagine that it would be a marie callender's when they already have a far superior space in the howard hughes promenade which is so close by.)

You're right, it may not be a restaurant. But normally, given that the kitchen and all the other special needs for running a restaurant are already in place I figure the odds are better that it will be. And I just used Marie C's as a "for instance" rather than figuring it would actually be one. Really, a deli would be a great addition in that location, even if it's not Brent's. The parking at this location is a big plus I figure. No valet necessary.

The Marie Callender's is gone from the Howard Hughes. In its place is Buffalo Wild Wings. Id sure like to see something like Enterprise Fish Co go into the old Denny's location.

Having never eaten at a chick fil a to this point in my life are they usually such large spaces with all the sit down room that this space has?

They can be pretty darn expansive.

Have you hit the one on LeConte & Westwood near UCLA?

                Except for that one.

                My bad.

I was thinking of the locations in OC and the South Bay.

Come to think of it, the one in Hollywood is quite small too.

As I rode by this morning I noticed that the building that had been there has been (or is being) completely torn apart/down. The roof was gone and it looks like a total demolishing and rebuild is underway, so this may not be a restaurant any longer. If I ever see that it is going to be another restaurant I'll post again.
