Looking for a Wonderful Japanese Restaurant in the West or East Village

A friend of mine - who is an artist from Germany - is visiting me this week. She is very creative and loves great food. Looking for suggestions for a wonderful Japanese restaurant for this afternoon in the Village. Yakitori, Sushi, or any other form of Japanese Cuisine would be fine. A lovely atmosphere would be nice - but is not required. Price does not matter.
Thank you for helping us with Japanese foods!

If it has to be today (Sunday afternoon), try Cha-An in the East Village. It's a Japanese tea house.

If price doesn't matter and you want a lovely atmosphere, give Kyo Ya a call as soon as you can and see if they can squeeze you in at 6:30pm Monday (tomorrow).

                East Village.

just wanted to give my 2 cents on sushi dojo...not a fan.

the rice isn't constructed well, the quality of fish wasn't as good as it should be given the accolades it receives and i just dont think id return.

                      im sticking with ushiwakamaru.
