NATIONAL PIE DAY- help me win!

My friend has an annual National Pie day party Everyone brings a pie, sweet or savory and we all sample and judge. I want to win this year!

The last time I went, I made a "holy Mole" pot pie with chicken mole. I want something creative, fun, and savory (i'm not a huge sweet pie fan

Any good ideas? thanks!

  1. Spanakopita - Spinach Pie, Greek Style.

here is a non-Greek recipe that fits the "pie" description nicely:

    1. Here's a link to 60 recipes from Martha Stewart. Some of them sound really good. There are a few tarts, empanadas, and hand pie recipes if you want to go that route.

I don't know if you want a traditional round pie with crust, but there are plenty of those as well.

      Good luck! Hope you win.

Lots of good ones! Thank you. Now just to narrow it down.

Let us know what you made and if you won. Is there a prize or just bragging rights?

that's pi day (3.14) not pie day.

Many people celebrate pi day with pies.

It was yesterday, but the celebration party is on saturday so more people could attend.

              Makes sense.
We celebrated here at work yesterday; I made a peanut butter and chocolate pie. It was quite a hit.

          3. What about a french canadian tourtiere?? I saw a few threads here on chow about them around the holidays.... And there are a few different traditional chutneys or sauces that you could choose from to go with it.

            1. 3.14159...with a little juggling of the time order, should be The Ides of March, at 9:00 A.M.
              A good time for pie!
