Pareve feta

I saw this at Whole Foods. It is under supervision of the Montreal Vaad Hair. I've had bad experiences with pareve "cheese" before and was shopping for a dairy meal, so I didn't buy it. Has anyone tried it?

  1. I haven't tried it, but know people who have. Fail. Tastes nothing like real feta.

Why does feta have to be parve anyway? To have it with a steak?

Real sheep's or goat's milk feta is wonderful, and harkens back to foods eaten in the Eastern Mediterranean.

I think it was developed more with vegans in mind. Also, the only salad my husband eats with enthusiasm has feta.

    2. I would drain super firm tofu as long as possible and salt liberally. Bam, parve feta. :-)

      1. I suggest making your own almond feta instead.

I make this all year round, and it's great on Passover.
