Breakfast in Financial District?

  • 6

I need a breakfast place in FiDi.

Did a search of this Board and this older thread has upscale suggestions:

They didn't care for Squire's (in SBT) and may not want continental, so Financier or Jack's is out. Suggested Bubby's but they don't want to head to the West side or Brooklyn.

Maybe Les Halles?

Pearl Street Diner?

Or the newer, Diner on Nassau?

I have not been to any of these, so I'd welcome and appreciate your thoughts.

Any other ideas?

Thanks for your help.

  1. Just remembered Gold Street Diner. I haven't been in ages.

Will read the Yelp perspective, trust hounds opinions more.

    Thanks.

    1. Looks like Bubby's Brooklyn location closed in 2012!

Thanks . . .I don't think they want to go that far.

I didn't know about Zucker's. How do they compare to Essa? Never mind, there's probably a long thread on bagels :)

I'm a fan of eesa as well- but zuckers aren't as fat or fluffy inside. They have a distinct hole in the middle and very chewy crust, the insides are more dense as well vs eesa's lighter more fluffy innards.
I like both very much yet would say they are quite different.
