My girlfriend and I love to try different restaurants around the Storrs area however, options are limited. Looking for great places to explore within 25-30 minutes from UConn campus. All suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Although I have not been in a couple of years The Altnaveigh Inn on Storrs Rd offered fine dining in a charming setting. The Inn has antiques throughout and is a lovely venue. If it is still open I would recommend it highly.

Second Altnaveigh... still open and as great as it's always been. Finest dining within an easy drive from UConn, IMO...

Looks like Monet's Table in Tolland is back. I haven't been in several years, but it was great and sounds like it's the same people. Maybe someone reading along can say if they've been recently and would vouch for it.

The Campus Restaurant was good 40 years ago. Sunday morning breakfasts, and great bread. They made a nice gingerbread house for Christmas, too. I am sure they are not still around.

Willington Pizza House (in Willington) and Bidwell Tavern (in Coventry) were great about 20 years ago. Haven't been around there since, but I see they're still in business.

WPH is still first-rate - appealing pizza combinations and a good beer selection. Famous for their Red Potato pie,.

Is Fred's in "Willi" still around? It used to be the best in the area.
