Rehearsal Dinner Ideas in Center City

agrant Jan 21, 2014 07:42 PM

Hey good people, I'm planning a rehearsal dinner on a Friday night in May for about 45 people near City Hall. Ideally we'd like to have a private room or section, but I know that may be too much to ask. We're considering El Vez and Tequilas. Would love to hear your thoughts on these two places, but also open to other suggestions as well. Thanks!

I like both of those places, but not sure how they'd be able to accommodate 45 on a Friday night. Estia has a room downstairs and the food is really good (I've only been there for a buffet event downstairs). I believe Davio's also does events, although I've never eaten there. And, I've seen Mercado closed down on a Friday night for a private party, if you'd prefer BYOB.

Check out Lolita. See if they reopen in time. Also pending on location Mad Mex in University City.

Just a note on Lolita. If memory serves me they will reopen with a liquor license. Their website suggests they will open this month.

Cuba Libre is a good place for a private party. They have lots of different sized spaces upstairs depending on your size and needs. I think the food overall is tasty and the atmosphere fun without being too loud or energetic.

If you can move down to Old City, look at Positano Coast. They have two rooms for large events. We had our rehearsal dinner there. Zahav is right across the street. I know they have a private room, but I'm not sure how big it is.

Also in old city is radicchio which I believe has a private space but I have also heard of it being closed for private events.
